This international symposium will be a joint meeting of two distinguished series: the 9th International Symposium on Drug Analysis and the 22nd International Symposium on Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis. It follows a series of successful symposia on Drug Analysis organized by the Belgian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) since 1983. This symposium will cover all aspects of pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis, including emerging domains, such as ‘omics’, process analytical technology and green analysis.

The meeting will present the most recent, cutting-edge research on a broad range of topics in the area of Peptide Science by leading international experts from both industry and academia. The organizers will attempt to compose an exciting program with emphasis of novelty and significance and this will be achieved through selection of the very best abstracts form all abstracts submitted before 1’st March 2010. The 10th International Symposium on the "Scientific Bases for the Preparation of Heterogeneous Catalysts" will cover the following topics: scaling-up, shaping and macrostructured catalysts; basic understanding and innovations in unit operations; nanostructured catalysts; hierarchical porous supports and hybrid catalysts; in situ spectroscopic follow-up of catalysts preparation. These topics will serve as guidelines for the sessions in the programme of oral communications. Out of the papers retained, 40 will be presented orally, including 5 extended communications (one for each topic). The 193 other selected contributions will be presented during two poster sessions. Additionally, the opening invited lecture given by Prof. Galen Stucky (University of California Santa Barbara) will address the question of the nanoscale integration of heterostructures in chemo- and bio-catalysis. In general terms, all contributions will mainly focus on catalyst preparation, the discussion of physico-chemical and catalytic properties being dedicated to identification and control of the preparation parameters
